# Delete a Volume

Use `novita.volume.destroy()` to permanently delete a volume by its ID. Deleting a volume is irreversible — its data cannot be recovered.

> **Warning:** Destroying a volume permanently deletes it and all data it holds. This cannot be undone.

## Delete a volume

`novita.volume.destroy()` returns a boolean: `true` if the volume was deleted, and `false` if no volume with that ID was found.
